Unveiling HR practitioners' most preferred vendors By Staff Writers Singapore - The winners of Human Resources magazine's HR vendors of the year 2006 have recently been unveiled. The results are based on an extensive research conducted by BDM Intelligence, and featured in a 90-page special annual edition entitled HR Vendors of the Year . It profiled the top 10 most preferred vendors in eight main product and service categories.

Out of the 2,200 senior HR professionals surveyed, 466 HR professionals from 462 organisations responded. Companies who topped the respective award categories include Kelly Services for recruitment, City Developments Limited for serviced apartments, Convergys for outsourcing, American International Assurance for employee insurance and Crown Relocations for executive relocation. In the compensation & benefits category, Mercer clinched the top spot, while Singapore Institute of Management bagged the top training and education award. Oracle and Creative Software were the respective winners of the HRIS and payroll software awards in the HR technology category. Additionally, each category ranks the top three companies under various sub-categories relevant to that industry, making it a total of 48 awards. According to Shirley Lee, editor of Human Resources magazine, "HR practitioners' choice of vendors plays a large part in ensuring success in what they do. That's why HR professionals are extremely interested in reading about how their peers rate certain vendors. The insights provided by HR Vendors of the Year will serve as an important resource for them." AJ Dabydin, BDM Intelligence's MD, said the survey is more than just research and rank. "It gives HR vendors operating across various areas of HR a credible benchmark and a powerful indicator of their future performance. How you are perceived will directly impact on your ability to grow your market share. The HR space is so competitive nowadays that HR vendors need to go beyond improving internal processes and service levels. They need to be seen doing so," he said.
